Pretty Hot
The Birthday Massacre (the band which sings the theme song to The Neverending Story) has enraptured me with such songs as Video Kid and Lover's End. I've been listening to the new album while at work and their gothic lyrics combined with their rock melodies and electronic overtones has done nothing but impress me. Of their three albums and one single (Nothing and Nowhere, Violet, Walking with Strangers, and Red Stars, respectively) has been by far their best put together album to date.
The Birthday Massacre returns with its second album that combines new-wave era electronic, dark atmospheres, brooding melodies and bursts of hot and sweaty guitars on Walking with Strangers, and delivers the album Amy Lee wishes she could produce in her wildest tantrums. That's not to say The Birthday Massacre sounds like Evanescence as much as it's possibly the band's platonic ideal: What, in a perfect world where vision, talent and songwriting all perfectly align, Evanescence should sound like.
A must for general listening, clubbing, driving, working...pretty much anything...
Favorite song: Looking Glass
Love and bloody crumpets!
