I go here to relax...
Yes. What she said. But I don't always have money to spend on the stuff I'd like to buy. However, I still go to Traveler's occasionally just to look at the wonderful stuff and RELAX. This place has a restful, calming atmosphere as well as great things to buy.

Seattle Holiday shopping recommendation
If you are in the Seattle area and have people to shop for, I must put in a plug for Travelers at Pine and Summit on Capitol Hill. Many of you have either been in the shop before, or at least walked by, but now is the time to get in there and see what Allen has brought back from India--many of the items were purchased in limited quantity and they will go fast. Here is a sample:

Tapestries, scarves, purses, rugs, bags, jewelry of all kinds. Vibrant handmade toys and ornaments, gorgeous Tibetan Thangkas, funny cult t-shirts, singing bowls, Vajras, bells, and other ritual tools, intricately woven and beaded skirts, delicate tops and dresses, groovy pants and Kurtas, a huge variety of deity statues, quality incense, vintage framed artwork, tiny beaded keepsake boxes...oh, i could go on and on...this is just off the top of my head, recalling the piles of stuff i saw them checking in the other day.

Travelers also carries a full range of essential oils and natural perfumes. You can see what's available at the website: www.travelersteaco.com . You can also get all kinds of bulk herbs and resins for making your own medicinal teas or incense, try out some of the house-blended tisanes and fine teas, shop for Indian groceries (spices, meals, sweets and snacks, health &beauty) and music. Friday through Sunday lunch and dinner are served from 1-7pm (No Thali available this month however). Come and see me on a Saturday between 10 and 5pm and i'll give you a free hug.

Most of the merchandise at Travelers is VERY affordable. Open 7 days a week from 10-8, boutique side opens at noon on Saturday and Sunday. Free parking in the lot behind the shop, off Summit Ave.
