I've been eating here for almost 6 years. This is some of the best food in town if you're veggie-kosher or not. The Beef in Creamy Mushroom Sauce (i.e. stroganoff) will cause cravings after the first time you eat it and this place sets the standard for tofu cheesecake. They could use a few fresh veggie sides to balance out the fried protein, though. Also, over the last 2 years the service has become abominable, they close early sometimes, and they don't respond if you mail them letters giving them feedback. ;-)

So if you are in a forgiving, laid-back mood and are hungry but not in a hurry, then I recommend Teapot. It's good for parties! - Geofre , posted 12/11/06

Yummy!!
I have my food delivered. They have the best hot n' sour soup I've ever tasted. I love the tofu crispy "beef" in the sweet brown sauce. Great spring rolls too. If you don't like the service, have it delivered. - Dion , posted 03/12/06

Better than Bamboo
I think the Teapot has a good variety and great flavor. I would give them a five if they would make their Mongolian Tofu with Veggies. It's such a good sauce but all it has is the crispy air noodles and fried tofu. Me want Broccoli. - K , posted 07/26/05

Bad Food, Worse Service
Had a waiter that would continually hate on nyc, while he was serving 4 new yorkers. The bland food didnt help. Check out Bambo Garden or Araya instead. - Zook , posted 04/24/05

New Eastside Teapot
And yeah, eastside is awful-- but if you're stuck over there, they have a new Bellevue Teapot, service seems better, maybe because they're new. They were awesome to us our first visit. The food is the same, vegan and marvelous. A nice exception to the eastside strip mall takeout. - Ryan , posted 02/20/05

USED to be one of my faves
Yep, I agree, the anti-pork hot and sour is to die for, but the service can be a bit surly, and you might get some added protein in your meal.

One time, my waitress was particularly moody. I called her over after spilling my tea all over the table because the teapot spout was clogged and tea was pouring out of the top as I tipped it. She came over and cleaned the spill, but instead of getting me a new teapot, she proceeded to pour it drop by drop into my cup when it obviously was still clogged.

I was not happy by the end of the meal, but I can understand folks sometimes having bad days. I asked for my leftovers to go in takeout boxes. Two days later, I poured the leftovers out, and there was this nice, crunchy roach at the bottom of my rice box.

I never went back.

Too bad, because it used to be a great little spot for picky eaters. - urseabliss , posted 12/13/04

I love the tea pot
Kosher Vegan Pan Asian.....I love super melange combo ecstacy.....hard to describe, yet the food is really not that complex. I love the hot and sour....thank you lords of the anti pork - I think this is the only place in Seattle that makes a pig free hot and sour....and it is like crack....I drive by that place and I just can not resist...it beckons me....calls me....forces me to get it there and get some....and damn if they do not deliver to my flat too. - ۞Dragonista , posted 11/28/04
