Feels like home
The service at the Globe is fantastic. I felt bad once because a bunch of us came in a few minutes before 3, they close at three. We asked if it was too late, and they were so accomodating. The biscuits and gravy ARE to die for, the cinnamon rolls rock, the pancakes kickin and the tofu scramble is rich and wonderful. I have happy memories of that place, and sitting around those big tables with friends in the early afternoon, drinking coffee and eating gorgeous food. Its worth the wait sometimes. Just socialize outside with your fellow foodies and make some new friends. - Kristin , posted 12/05/06

Yeast Flakes
Any place that has yeast flakes is the best! However, that table in the middle of the room is so huge, nobody can get around it without bumping into whoever is sitting there. None the less, everyone who goes there is nice, so it's kinda fun in the end... unless you're anti-social. - rex , posted 01/06/06

biscuits and gravy= great
A fantastic place, good food, cheap. The greens are garlicy, the biscuits gravied. Love on plates. - Ryan , posted 01/30/05

The Globe is only three blocks from the B&B where my husband and I stayed during our recent visit to Seattle. We ate there twice and loved it. The service is friendly, and the portions are huge. I had the open-face tofu sandwich with onion-herb bread, two scoops of chunky mashed potatoes, thick vegan gravy, and tasty cranberry relish. It was practically Thanksgiving. My husband thought the tofu gyro was equally grand. The Globe's famous cinnamon rolls also lived up to the hype.

It wasn't as clean as I like--all empty tables had crumbs during our first visit (we were there around 2:00 p.m., though, and closing time is 3:00). Brunch was tidier but entailed a longer wait for our order. These are minor complaints, however. If you enjoy hearty homestyle vegan food, I recommend The Globe. - Unsubscribed , posted 10/14/04
