Riz has been one of my favorite local Seattle DJs since forever. It's been great to check him spinning house at Re-bar on Fridays. Depending on his mood, it's either slightly downtempo or up, funky, soulful, latin-tinged, or all the above. This is not your average, thoughtless pop-house; there is great attention and intention here on Riz's part as it's clear he really has sorted through the options and feels this music. The dancers tend to be really good, and the scene is comfortably mixed with people from different walks of life and (often) different age groups. Nice vibe. Best of all, Riz is a perfect gentleman, almost an avatar of dreadlocked love. His vibe is infectious. Prepare for bliss. - spaceotter , posted 07/09/06 |
