Best Yoga Studio in Town!
hen I first move to Seattle in 04, I thought the first thing I need to do is find a place to practice yoga. I have been practicing for over 15 years and truly believe yoga is a wonderful life style for the outdoor and fitness enthusiast. I started off with local gym yoga, but in my opinion, gym yoga often has distractions. So to avoid the staring good looking people lifting weights, I set out to find a yoga studio that challenged my active life style. What I found was great looking yoga studios without that spirituality and guidance to help me focus on everyday. Then one day by accident, I took a class from Katerina Wen and I was hooked. I traveled everywhere she taught as a devotee.
And thank goodness she has opened her own placed called Yogi Way in the Wallingford Fremont area.
What makes Katerina's style so unique is her sweetness and focus she shares with her students. She teaches a technique called Universal. She calls it a multidimensional practice that's Vinyasa based. Since I have been practicing with her, I have gone deeper into my stretches than I have ever gone before, my arm balances have excelled and my over-all strength has increased.
I love this part - Yogi Way has a unique floor with a mat built-in so there is no need for lugging your mat around, especially if you ride your bike to class.
When you walk into her studio the feeling is warm and inviting. There are plants and flowers all over and little shrines with candles. During the day the studio's many windows fill the room with an uplifting openness . In the evening, the room is illuminated with candles and there is always the essence of sage or some kind of hypnotic wood burning smell. If you are at all into yoga, practicing with Katerina Wen is a must do!
