It was good..
I went to Julia's on Broadway for breakfast at 8:00 AM on January 14th 2007. It was good. The "cinnamon bun french toast" was killer (it was meal in itself -- glad I shared it.) The service was very attententive. Coffee came immediatley, cocktails quickly there after. The food was served within just a few minutes... hot and good.

My omelet of salsa, guacamole and sour cream was bad choice of my part -- I should've stuck with meat, cheese & veggies. - Paul , posted 01/29/07

bad (and cold) food
Ok so I am not one for going out for breakfast. I figure why sped 12$ on a few eggs and half a spud but if I do go out I expect it to be at least as good as i can make at home. Let me alo say I am no great cook. The other day at Julia's on Broadway (same chain) I had a dreadful breakfast that reminded me why I dont often go out for this meal. I however will NEVER eat at Julia's again. Cold sub-par food. Dennys would have been better (Shudder) - Gabriel , posted 01/15/07

falls short
For the price I expected more from the food and service. - Geofre , posted 12/11/06

Lame, compared to other options
I think Wallingford folks are very forgiving of Julia's: poor service/attitude, mediocre food. I do agree that the baked good are great, but I go to Essential and Mighty-O for that anyway. The wait to get in can be absurd given what it is. I think the yuppies in this town have contracted some kind of transmissible taste-bud problem! ;) - @bri✴ , posted 11/11/06

The original on Eastlake
..was the cornerstone of what was a great concept..in 1980. The original Julia's 14 Carrot Cafe' will not be forgotten for being a real neighborhood breakfast 5star place. You won't 'get it' from the successors anymore than you'll get to know Seattle when it had pre-gentrified 'hoods. - *Gratephil* , posted 09/14/06

Absolutely terrible service
I can't understand how this place stays in business. Food and service is repeatedly touted as undercooked/awful in online reviews (here, citysearch). I would have something more cogent to say about the food but after the twenty minute wait for a table for two (when there turned out to be multiple open tables for us and the other people waiting) and no one coming to take our order, my dining partner and I left. Restaurant gets a big fuck you and no stars from me. - !!☻♥ , posted 09/02/06

Stick to the baked goods
...unless you like luke warm, slimy, under browned red potato hash browns. - Flossy , posted 07/21/06

eh
I live in Wallingford, and Julia's always leaves me wondering what the big deal is. The food is ok, but not inspired, the wait is usually long.. someone please explain to me why its so popular? :) - Kerri , posted 11/24/05

Okay unless you're vegan
I like the feel of this place, and I was treated really well both times I went. But they need to learn how to make a vegan dish. Vegetarian friendly places with no good vegan options seem odd to me... - Ryan , posted 11/06/05

Good Food, No Smoke
There's really no downside to breakfast, lunch, or dinner at Julia's. Service is friendly, prices are quite reasonable, food is good. Ask for a meal card for each person. Four meals bought in one month earn you a free one.
