GREAT TURNARAOUND!!!
After a very rocky start in 2005 Goldbergs' Deli is on track. It took them until their 3rd year but this deli has kosher style food that would make my grandma (and mother) proud. The stuffed cabbage rolls are to die for and they finally have seeded rye bread and not that other stuff they were trying to pass off. Corned beef and pastrami are delicious and the last time I was in was told that it is being trucked in from the east coast along with their smoked fish. . . must be expensive. I was born and raised in the NYC area and this deli stacks up to Carnegie and Stage without the inflated prices. Atmosphere is fun and energetic plus they have a full bar. If you're looking for a true east coast deli then stop, it's right there in Factoria. - Bob , posted 09/18/07

Horrible service and terrible "Manager"
Waiting 25 minute to be seated which was fine due to the crowd. After being seated it took 15 minutes to be acknowledged by the waitress. It took 10 of those to get water. Once we ordered the food it took another 10 minutes to get my beverage after asking twice. Food arrived and the four burgers were fine. My omelete did not come as ordered (cheese is extra). I informed the waitress and she said she'd have it "right out". Another 10 or so minutes goes by and she brought out a bowl of shredded cheese and asked if this would be "sufficient". I asked for the bill which only came after another 10 minute wait and as we were walking to the cashier. I asked to speak with the manager which she arrived very quickly. Not introducing herself she asked what the problem was. As I began explaining she was working on other tickets and orders. I stopped her and asked if she could at least "look at me while I was exlplaining?' Her response without looking up was "if you want me to take care of your bill I will" then walked away. Her tone was condescending and uncaring. My party was looking at me as if asking "what happened?". The pont was not to get out of paying a 30$ tab but to explain the lack of service and overall acknowledement as a customer. I received t he same treatment from the manager. I asked if this was a family-owned business or a corporation. I also asked for the GM's name and was told his name was Robert. I asked if Robert had a last name and the gentleman had no idea then proceeded to tell me that I shoud have not talked to the manager "that way". He had to ask the same manager who was rude what his name was and she snapped it out. This was my 6th or 7th and final visit to the restaurant. Although the food is good no customer should have to endure this type of treatment. The sad part of this is the bagels are incredible but I would much rather go elswhere for a mediocre bagel than be treated in such a way! If your looking for polite, courteous and timely service AND good food you'll have to look elsewhere. - Michael , posted 11/11/06

Not your corner deli
Working in factoria, and having frequented a lot of good delis both in NYC and Boston I was looking forward to the opening of Goldberg's. While the food is good, and the portions are "American size"... you pay for it. Why is there a need for them to take your first born in exchange for a roast beef sandwich? This isn't really a deli. Part of it looks like one, but it's really a restaurant serving an upscale version of deli food. - Erik , posted 03/11/06

Good Kosher and not so Kosher eats
I have been here three times now and to be quite honest, not been disappointed once. Anything at the mall is likely to ultimately disappoint but I haven't yet found that here.

The decor is upbeat and new york themed, the deli, jam packed with salami, matzos, pickles and all manner of other ' good eats' and the menu, well if you're a foodie you 're sure to find something you'll like.

This is not a greasy spoon diner, so you won't get greasy spoon pricing but the coffee is strong and the eggs are just the way you want them! - Clinton , posted 10/09/05
