Overpriced
When I fitst came to Seattle in the early 1990's - I couldn't believe how overpriced American Music was. Now that they have competition, they are still very overpriced. - Unsubscribed , posted 10/18/05

Sorry I used to shop AM but they got so bad about over pricing their items and answering more than a cursory question I moved on to places that can either give me the best deal (guitar center) for stuff that you can get anywhere or to a more personable and helpful staff (Emerald City Guitars) - HoopDe , posted 07/25/05

The
Actually everyone who works at a Guitar Center is a musician - I know because I work at one. The people who work the guitar floor play guitar or bass, drummers in the drum department, and dj's in pro audio. - digital gypsy , posted 05/18/05

Kicks Guitar Center's Butt
American Music has this really strange hiring policy -- everyone working in the store is a musician! Unlike Guitar Center where it seems that the staff don't have to know a thing about what they're selling, these folks know what you need and why you need it (or don't). Great store. - Marti , posted 04/28/05

Seattle's Best Music Store
There's nothing relating to electric or acoustical music you can't buy, sell, or have repaired here, and usually at a better price than you'll find elsewhere. The staff is knowledgeable, personable, and they have a no-pressure sales policy that's downright refreshing. Sales, rentals, layaways, and of course the American Music School, so after you buy it, you can learn to play it.

Open 7 days - parking.
