Programmer Writer
The Programmer Technical Writer position is an excellent opportunity to design, develop, and maintain product documentation for Attenex’s innovative electronic discovery products. The Programmer Writer is responsible for all aspects of end-user documentation targeted to specific user communities, including attorneys, analysts, project managers, IT professionals, and internal users. This person would assist in SDK development and in authoring knowledge-base entries, and would be a part of the Product Development team.
Qualifications
* Outstanding writing skills, as demonstrated by writing samples of previous work.
* Excellent verbal communication skills.
* Professional programming and/or documentation experience with C# and SQL Server.
* Experience documenting client/server software products for sophisticated audiences.
* Experience writing for software development kits.
* Experience with Windows and non-Windows code development.
* Able to concisely and effectively describe complex technical concepts.
* Strong technical aptitude and ability to rapidly develop proficiency with technical software products.
* Excellent judgment in applying appropriate documentation technologies and formats based on customer and content needs.
* Strong interpersonal skills and customer service orientation.
* Highly organized—can effectively handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
* Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and cross-organizationally.
* Proven dedication to producing high-quality documentation under tight deadlines.
Requirements
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent work experience.
* Five-plus years of experience writing documentation for software products.
* Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows operating system and architecture.
* Experience using applications such as Adobe FrameMaker and Microsoft Office products.
* Experience using source control systems, such as Subversion.
* Clear understanding of the software development life cycle.
* Experience working within an agile development methodology preferred.
Bonus Points
* Experience documenting software for use by IT professionals.
* Understanding of discovery and electronic discovery processes.
* Experience in the legal industry.
