Hi there,
One of the most beautiful things that I have witnessed in the past couple of years was at Ruby Skye in San Francisco, 2008. If you are not familiar with Ruby Skye, it is known as one of the premier nightclubs in the United States. It is a place where a lot of the major DJs from around the globe come, but for some of the San Francisco locals it has also garnered a reputation for being a bit "stuffy and stuck up."
But when DJ Dan came to headline last March, I witnessed something that I have never seen there before. While I was waiting for Dan to go on, I looked into the crowd and was amazed to see that most of the crowd was burners! Dan turned to me and said he couldn't believe it and had never seen such an amazing turn out of Burners at Ruby Skye! What a truly beautiful thing!!!
I have been living in San Francisco the last 3 years and if you have been there you know that the spirit of burning man thrives all year long. I recently moved back in Seattle for awhile and am throwing monthly events at a club downtown called Heaven. we are kicking off the first show with DJ Dan on May 29th. I know there is an amazing community of burners in Seattle and I have been thinking that it would be awesome to provide another outlet to bring us together.
Because Dan is a burner as well I thought it would be a nice gesture to help him feel at home by decking out Club Heaven with the art and decor that we experience on the Playa. And how great would it be to see burners come to this show in costume, mixing with people in street clothes?! Since I am not as familiar with the burning man community in Seattle I wanted to reach out to see if there would be some interest of some folks to come by the club to decorate it with me.
